There is an instinct to always try and find your friends with benefits outside of your social circle. There is this general feeling that due to the “complication” of having a friend with benefits, finding them from outside is safer. We generally perceive that to try and have a hook up with someone within our close circle is a bad idea, one that will lead to guaranteed fall out and poor results. In this article I would like to challenge this concept, and put forward the argument that finding a friend with benefits from within your social circle brings with it a variety of benefits that that having a hook up with a complete stranger can never bring.
Hooking up with an actual friend is guaranteed to lead to a fall out
There have been many times where this has occurred – but this is by no means the rule! If you have a falling out, the issue with them being an actual friend is that you do not have the opportunity to avoid them, leading to escalated confrontations. However this can be offset by being really honest at the start. If you are honest about who you are and what you want, even if the hook ups come to end, there is a high likelihood that you can continue being friends.
Keep it in the bedroom
A good rule of thumb is to keep it in the bedroom. In the same way that it is a good idea to leave your work when you leave the workplace, when you put your clothes back on and leave the bedroom, remember to reset and be friends again. If you can do this, you will find that there is a low chance of an explosion.
The advantages – you are already friends!
The big advantage is that you already like hanging out with them. The sex aside, when you are done you are not going to be looking for the easiest excuse to kick them out!
The advantages – you can have a night out that ends well
Normally a great night out with your mates ends with going home alone… not anymore! You can still go out and have the same laughs that you did before, but now you can have sex at the end without having to being along an annoying partner that you don’t really want to hang out with.
The advantages – sex on tap
If you order a take away, you have to make a phone call then wait for it to arrive. With this, they are just there already! You both get sex on tap whenever you feel like it, without having to arrange it in advance. Awesome, right?!?!
So next time you think you might want to fuck a friend, go for it!
